Our Operating Philosophy

Alpha Tribe’s core philosophy is to simplify, centralize, and organize the transition experience for veterans by creating a free, singular channel to get personalized support from other vets and tailored recommendations to other firms that could support their needs.

We envision a world where leaving the military isn’t as intimidating as it is today. We seek a society where vets don’t feel isolated, lost, and overwhelmed by the uncertainty of life after getting out. We’re building a future where veterans have hands-on employment support, easy access to mentorship, educational opportunities, and local meetups with other vets without having to spend a dollar.

At its core, we want all veterans to thrive after transitioning from the military regardless of where they are in their careers. And since nobody else is doing it, we’re taking it upon ourselves to build the community and infrastructure to make that happen.

Story of the company

Alpha Tribe is the brainchild of two friends who met at a party in San Clemente, CA in 2017. Sebastian was a Marine Corps officer preparing to take the GMAT and attend business school after getting out of the military, while Christian was rising through the ranks of one of Silicon Valley’s rocketship startups.

They remained friends and would catch up periodically in New York City where Christian was working and Sebastian was attending NYU, regularly tossing around ideas over beers for ways to help veterans.

7 years later, they reconnected in LA to hash out the kernel of an idea that felt big. Their vision of a better future for veterans powered by their shared passion for helping people enabled them to identify a blind spot in the market of veteran-support companies.

By combining the best of both their veteran and professional experiences, Christian and Sebastian founded Alpha Tribe and started the journey to revolutionize the experience of veterans as professionals and individuals.

Meet The Team

Christian DiPietrantonio

Christian has an extensive background building and scaling high-performing commercial teams at venture-backed companies. He has led teams at 5 different VC-backed companies including Axiom, Andela, ProdPerfect, Darkroom, and A.Team. He excels at commercial and go-to-market strategy for high growth businesses and has deep experience working with early career professionals. He’s always had a passion for the US military and has first hand experience hiring veterans transitioning from the military to the private sector. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Vanderbilt University.

Sebastian Calvo

Sebastian is a US Marine Corps veteran who served 9 years as both an enlisted Marine and as an officer. After transitioning from the military, he earned his MBA from NYU and embarked on a successful career in tech operations and strategy. With experience at leading companies such as DoorDash, Gopuff, Amazon, and Deloitte Consulting, Sebastian has developed expertise in driving growth, managing large-scale operations, and optimizing business models. He is dedicated to leveraging his military background and professional experience to support veterans in their career transitions.
